Flint is a desktop AI agent for Windows, built in Auckland, New Zealand. It reads your files, runs commands in your terminal and drives your browser, working on the machine your work is already on rather than in a browser tab you paste code into.
ChatGPT is a website you paste things into. Flint is an application on your computer with real access: it opens your files, runs your commands and reports what it changed. Nothing is uploaded to a chat window first, and there is no subscription. You pay per token with a free monthly allowance.
There is no subscription and no seat count. Every account gets 0.50 USD of usage free each month, and past that you pay per token at published rates. An idle month costs nothing. Flint stops at your allowance rather than overspending unless you add a card. Full rates are on the pricing page.
Three tiers: Streak for fast everyday work, Radiant for stronger reasoning, and Lux as the flagship. Each one is a DeepSeek model served through Flint's API, and the exact model id is published beside its name on the pricing page. Flint does not train its own models.
Only what a request needs. Flint sends the model the context for the task you asked for, the same as any AI coding tool, and the provider key stays on our server so it is never in your install. Nothing is uploaded wholesale, and signed out with your own API key Flint talks to your provider directly with us not in the path at all.
Yes. Signed out, Flint talks to any OpenAI-compatible endpoint directly using your own key, including OpenRouter or a local server. Nothing is metered and there is no allowance to run out of. See bring your own key.
Not yet. Flint is Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. It installs per-user, so it never asks for administrator rights.
