An AI lab in Auckland

Flint is built by a small independent AI lab in Auckland, New Zealand. We make AI software that runs on your own machine.

What we build

Flint is a desktop AI agent for Windows. It reads your files, runs commands in your terminal and drives your browser, on the computer your work is already on. That is the whole idea: most AI tools are a website you paste things into, and the pasting is the work. An agent with real access does not need you to move your project to it.

It is sold the way we would want to buy it. No subscription, no seat count, no annual contract. A free allowance every month, then published per-token rates, and an idle month costs nothing.

Where we are

Auckland, New Zealand. Building software here for a global market is ordinary now, but the local part is not incidental: New Zealand teams asking about AI tooling are usually asking a different question from the one Silicon Valley is answering, about cost and about where the data goes rather than about scale.

What we are honest about

We do not train our own models. Flint runs DeepSeek's models through an API, and the exact model behind each tier is published on the pricing page next to its name. Plenty of AI products are vague about this. We would rather you knew what you are buying, because it is the difference between a recommendation and a complaint.

The engine underneath is the DeepSeek Harness, MIT licensed. Flint is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by DeepSeek.
